Fun Fact Friday #181

Well, who knew. Angela Lansbury, the voice of Mrs. Potts, did not think she was suited to sing the ballad Beauty and the Beast. She recorded one take at the director’s request, to have for a back up if nothing else worked, and that one recording ended up in the film.

I can’t imagine any one else doing a better job. Can you?

New Design of “The Jungle Book” Character Plush! So cute!

Seriously, Disney? Is there some conspiracy out there that’s goal is to turn me into a stuffed-animal hoarder? I already have a super large Stitch plus, a Baymax, a seagull from Nemo, 60th Anniversary Minnie, and all of the classic Winnie the Pooh characters… and now this!

Well I can’t stay angry, especially when it comes to Disney. Perhaps if I share the newest items on my blog, it will satisfy my desire to order all of them right this second.

Check out these awesome Jungle Book stuffed animals!

You probably recognize the villainous Shere Khan, who looks more cuddly than cutthroat. And King Louie, in all his fiery glory (check out that hair!). Then Kaa, who will be voiced by the sleek Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming movie, looks shimmery. Gotta love that tongue, you can almost hear him/her hisssss!

Enough of the bad guys, how about the cutie good guys. Junior, Bagheera, and Gray! I love Gray’s eyes and think Bagheera is stunningly mysterious. Junior’s big ears remind me to my Stitch plushie!

And last, but certainly not least, is my favorite one of all. I have a great deal of memories with Baloo from my childhood. The Jungle Book was always one of my go-to movies as a kid, and Baloo made me laugh nonstop. I’ve always had a soft spot for him. And look at how he was recreated. Just beautiful!

I love the coloring on him, the big paws and sweet face. He is the epitome of “Teddy Bear”! So… naturally… I… had to……. buy him………….

Okay, moving on. Anyone care to tell me who this fellow is? I’m assuming he will be part of the rendition coming out in just under two months (yes, April 15th is the date!)!!!

To celebrate, I give you… Mr. Pangolin!

Disney Princesses Sing in Original Language!

This is so cool. You can hear how some of your favorite Disney songs sound in their original language. My favorite is a tie between Tangled (German) and Aladdin (Arabic) because they sound the most romantic to me.

Sorry, Elsa, but that voice was not pleasant on my ears at all.

Let me know what you think!

Real Talk

Well I wasn’t expecting this. Today, I was going to share one of my favorite quotes from Ratatouille. While on my search, I stumbled upon this little gem:

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.

Steve Jobs (late Pixar CEO)

Sometimes certain things really resonate, and this certainly did. I’m on the cusp of going back to school to complete a degree… in what, I’m not sure. There’s also another option of remaining at my current job and someday taking over operations. As logical as they both may sound, neither option has me jumping for joy.

How am I going to make such a big decision confidently? Man, I could really use a Fairy Godmother right about now!

Looks like I have some more thinking to do.
How about you all? Do you love what you do for work, or have an idea of what your dream job would be? 🙂
Oh, and, just in case you were all wondering, here is the quote I had prepared to share (it’s a good one, too!):

anna freeze

Yes, we are in an arctic freeze up here folks. Over the weekend, the wind chill dropped down to -20º and we were warned to not let our dogs outside for more than three minutes at a time, for fear of frostbite. Yep. And I’m still here, why…

This is crazy! But there is some good news. Looks like I will be heading down to Florida in a few weeks! This is for work, but I’m hoping I can get a day in at Disney. This is what I keep thinking about as I pile on the scarves, gloves, hats, fleece pants……….

Speaking of wishing/hoping, check out this beautiful picture I found of Tiana wishing for her restaurant. My wishes may be a bit more carefree, but it’s all Disney!
